Oh the Memories and Big Goals reached this week!! And The new Mid-American Stock Show for sure did not disappoint! Numbers may have been smaller for the other breeds but the quality sure was there! So proud of the fellow Gelbvieh breeders to put together the largest breed show, with deep deep quality and to host a SMOKING sale Monday night! Was a absolute blast to work on DVAuction and had an overwhelming online attendance and participation. Can't be more excited for this breed and the direction of it's breeders.. the future is to be HOT! For personal goals. We finally broke that top 5...

We brought out Jewel's full brother... Big Shooter..... to get him aquainted with the show road and he was honored to be Champion Balancer Bull and looked at really hard for that top 5. Thanks again to our Gelbvieh family and everything everyone does for each other, They are absolutely the best!!

Several have called him "intriguing"... but this guy is what we're excited about the future for!! The new herd sire walking the pastures at JC Cattle. Is our new Gelbvieh influenced herd sire! Kids Balancer and Gelbvieh herd has grown with the years and it's was time for a herd bull - he's built right at the ground. Soft and sound as a cat... with shape and structure to add carcass to them! Excellent epds to match. The growth, feed ability and maternal ability of the Gelbvieh influenced cows are 2nd to none... Photos were taken today. He's been out working and not laying in the barn. Semen is for sale. High quality, flush quality semen available from any of the partners. Videos available if interested!

This last weekend kids and I ran off for a quick trip for a few days to show the Girls to the American Royal in KC. ..they came home with a huge pile of loot.
Kaycee and Jewel won the Jr Show and Champion Balancer Female in the Open show.
Cody and Cherry were Reserve Jr Yearling in the Purebred Show.
These 2 sure have been fun to haul!
Few weeks off then to the Mid- American in Grand Island- no rest for the weary.

KANSAS STATE FAIR 2022

Kids had an exceptional day at the Kansas State Fair with there cattle. Kaycee and Jewel, Champion Balancer Heifer, Champion Balancer Bull with Spike, and Cody and Cherry were Champion Gelbvieh Heifer. Kids had 2 other class and division grand and reserves with Misty and Jackie... Thanks again to our tribe!! You guys rock!!

Kaycee got to go see her picture too along with all the other awesome photography projects.

Fair week is officially coming to a close.

I've struggled with putting this post up. I'm so stinking proud of the kids and there work they have put in to there projects this year. Day in and day out when mom is nagging at them to do the small details it pays off...

Sunday in the Horse show. Lots of purples, blues and a few reds... maybe we need to practice a little more at horse show things.. lol speed events we excelled at of course!
Monday Goat show - Champion Breeding Doe with Kaycees home raised Doe.
Champion Market Goat with Rolo and Reserve Goat showman.
Tuesday- Beef show, Champion and Reserve Breeding Heifers with the 2 Balancers, and Champion and Reserve Market Steers!! Cody was Reserve Beef showman.
Wed- Pig show. Cody had Reserve Market Hog with Twinkie and Reserve Breeding Gilt with Oreo!

Kaycee also completed her Photography with Champion Black and white photo! Whew what a fair!

Cody and I went to the 1st spring show of the season. 2 hd. 2 breed champions, 2 grand drives. And made it to the short go of Senior showmanship. Long day at Harvey County, But had a good time!
