I don't care... the moment your kid fit her own bred and owned heifer all by herself and she wins a show.. You buy the damn picture ! It's right up there with the parental check list in the winning dept... #caniretireyet #proud #winning

The show string at Kansas State Fair 2023
Finally getting caught up from our trip to South Dakota and the Jr Classic for the kids! The weather and fellowship was exceptional.. really making me miss the 70 degrees the last few days.. maybe we should go back. Ha!
I'm more proud of the kids stepping up with bred and owned stock and excelling with there own breeding programs. Kaycees bull and Cody's heifer and his bred and own steer brought home, Banners and buckles! That means more to us than anything. The kids also stepped put of there comfort zone and did speeches in front of large crowds for running for board of directors and ambassador. Each of them received a ton of encouragement and feedback to keep on keeping on and try again next year! Lord knows we're NOT public speakers at all. Since we have came home kids have gathered up next years show string and are making plans! Couldn't ask for anything more but the desire to improve and keep on a keeping on.
What a long hot awful week at our County Fair, but kids and there herd took it in stride. Worked hard to keep everything alive and happy. With 13 hd they brought home 9 banners!

Big thanks to everyone that supported the kids in the premium sale last night couldn't do it without everyone's support!
While Kaycee was off rodeoing this weekend , Cody and I ran off to the Regional Gelbvieh show in Missouri. What a fantastic show hosted by the Missouri Juniors and the weather was perfect too!!
Cody and his heifer Laney he raised out of Journey, won her division and then Champion Bred and Owned Balancer.
His bred and owned steer won his class and his new little red purebred Harley took the show pretty tough. But still stood well in a tough April class . Her better days are ahead as a big bred. Cody also made the finals in showmanship.. pretty dang proud for his 1st turn with the old kids. Lol
On to this week full of state FFA for Cody and the KS state show this coming weekend then to DC next week with the FFA program again! Where did June go?? Better be nice to his sister keeping his stock in the barn and working on them.
Day 3 we wrapped up Kansas State FFA Convention full of awards! We started bright and early to see Cody Brown be recognized for being the state winner of the Dairy Cattle Judging CDE!! After a quick break we were back in the auditorium to cheer on our Kansas State Degree Recipients! Cody Brown, Bailey Rapp, and Shaylee Sanford received their state degrees, the highest FFA degree within Kansas! After lunch we made our way back to the auditorium for the last session. Our delegates Ian Effland and Parker Diekmann finished their last delegate duties and new state officers were installed.
